Pheromone colognes don't work. Here's what does.

Scientists have searched for human pheromones for 50 years. They haven't found one. They found something better.

The pheromone promise

Spray this, and women will be drawn to you. It's printed on thousands of bottles. It sells. It isn't true.

What the science says

Oxford zoologist Tristram Wyatt reviewed decades of human pheromone research. His conclusion: no human pheromone has ever been identified.

The molecules sold in pheromone colognes, like androstadienone, trace back to a 1991 paper that never showed how they were found. Controlled, double-blind studies since then have found no reliable effect on attraction.

Fifty years of research. Zero human pheromones.

What actually works

In a 2009 study, men used either a real fragrance or a placebo spray. Women then rated short silent videos of them. They couldn't smell anything.

The men wearing fragrance were rated more attractive. Not because of a molecule. Because they felt more confident, and it showed.

That's what a great scent does: it changes how a man carries himself. Then people notice the trail he leaves.

What to wear instead

Skip the miracle molecules. Wear a scent women already love, and make it last.

That's the idea behind EMANE, a young brand started by two French founders. No pheromones. Three scents built on the profiles of the most complimented fragrances in the world.

Pheromone sprays sell a fantasy. We'd rather sell a scent women already love.

Why it lasts

  • 40% fragrance oilExtrait level. Designer bottles sit at 5–20%.
  • A body butter in the same scentIt holds the perfume on the skin.
  • A free travel sprayIn every first box, for top-ups.

EMANE doesn't promise 12 hours. Nobody can. When the scent fades, you spray again.

EMANE is not affiliated with the brands mentioned. Their names are used to describe a scent's style, for comparison only. Lasting power varies with skin, climate and dose.
